I've been tagged by for a book meme. I'm supposed to find my favorite book and write the first sentence from it. *Snitter did a cool thing with it where she listed a few of her favorite first lines, so I think I'm gonna do the same... to make it more fun or something.

QUOTE #1:

"This is my favorite book in all the world, though I have never read it."

QUOTE #2:

"The Chevalier Tannhauser, having lighted off his horse, stood doubtfully for a moment beneath the ombre gateway of the mysterious Hill, troubled with an exquisite fear lest a day's travel should have too cruelly undone the laboured niceness of his dress."

QUOTE #3:

(That makes this book sound boring, but I assure you it is not.)

Guess away! The first is a favorite I'm sure I share with many others, but the second two are somewhat obscure. If someone gets one of the latter two and can tell me something about the books other than the title (so I know it wasn't just Googled), perhaps I'll be willing to give a prize sketch or somesuch. : )

Speaking of books, I don't really read much in general, but recently I started Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. And it's hilarious and awesome.
